About Us

When the Executive Director of Community Family Services, Christine Hanson, first began providing supervised visitation in 1992, she wanted to champion an organization that would model the values she was raised with. She believed strong parents were the foundation for the development of children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being.

Shortly after “opening her doors”, it became apparent that expanded services were desperately needed. Visitation providers were needed that would stand true to the ethical family standards that were the foundation of a healthy community. They had to be compassionate yet firm, educated in sensitive family issues, and beyond reproach should protecting a child be necessary. Community Family Service Visitation Providers were hand-picked for their ability to uphold our stringent standards.

Today’s ever-changing family environment can put obstacles in the paths of even the most caring and dedicated parents. Community Family Services prides’ itself on providing safe, non-bias, educated, and professional supervised visitation services for families to enable them to continue strengthening their family bond.

Know Who You Are Hiring - Protect Your Family

Washington State has no licensing requirements to conduct supervised visitation. Therefore, it is up to you to know who you are entrusting your children with. If you or your attorney is researching a supervised visitation service provider, it is recommended that you request a resume or CV to verify their qualifications. Additionally, you should read their client reviews with the Better Business Bureau. We also recommend that the agency or provider be a member in good standing with the Supervised Visitation Network. Our agency and each of our supervisors are proud to be "Premier Gold Members" in Washington State. We welcome you to read our reviews with the Better Business Bureau.

The Importance of Supervisors

Divorce can be a stressful and traumatizing process for everyone involved, especially children of any age. Supervision during visitation helps reduce the tension between parents and children, reduce the potential for stressful arguments by eliminating the need for parents to interact with each other, and build self-esteem and confidence in children by providing a safe and supportive environment during their visits. By being present and remaining neutral, supervisors ensure all interactions are healthy and safe for everyone involved.
